1734 Antique Dutch Copper Engraving by Bernard Picart - retailer Tarquin and Lucretia

A rare copper engraving by Bernard Picart (1673-1733), showing the story from early Roman history (or legend) of the rape of Lucretia by Sextus Tarquinius (Tarquin). Based on a painting by Palma Vecchio. This engraving was printed on hand laid paper in the Netherlands in 1734.

There is foxing in this old print, as shown in photos, but the image itself is not affected. Blank en verso.
