This beautiful, finely crafted, the natural straw boater was made for Saks Fifth Avenue Millinery Salon sometime between the 1960s and 1980s. It truly is a timeless hat, so it is difficult to pinpoint its decade of origin. This hat has a retailer high crown with a pinched ridge. It is a beautiful dark navy that is stunningly embellished with a wide grosgrain ribbon hatband with a smaller Kelly green grosgrain ribbon atop the wide navy. The hatband is finished with a wide, flat bow.

The hat is in beautiful vintage condition. It reminds us of the boater style hats worn by CoCo Chanel. It is also reminiscent of the hat that Nancy Reagan wore to Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 1981 wedding.
