*** Who was the Hippocrates?

Hippocrates (Greek: Ιπποκράτης c. 460 – c. 370 BC), was a Greek physician of the Pericles' Age (the Gold Century), who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. He and his followers dismissed the idea that illness was simply caused or cured by superstitions, spirits or gods. He is widely known as the “father of medicine” in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field as the founder of the Hippocratic School of Medicine.
