SO SOFT!! I LOVE this ticking ! ~*~ ! Ideal for upholstery ~ A gorgeous antique French ticking fabric dating to circa 1900.~ Ideal for faded projects, pillows upholster etc ~ SO sturdy !! ~*~ This fabric has lovely faded ground of a gentle muted red with stripes of blues , gold and off-white~ . This ticking fabric is a heavy weight cotton with a very dense weave. Faded and aged beautifully! A wonderful fabric for aged projects which require the time-touched look! ~*~
~*~ The word ticking , is derived from the Latin word Tica, which means casing! These textiles were usually used to cover mattress and daybed covers which were, in most cases, filled with feathers~ Ticking fabric has been used for centuries because of this strength and durability, which make it a very practical fabric ( and beautiful! ). There is a bit of residue from the original down on the back of this piece! ~ These ticking fabrics are also wonderful when combined with antique toiles, small and large scale antique florals and other ticking stripes. Wonderful for modern styles as well! ~*~ ( ET B4)

CONDITION: I've freshly laundered this lovely fabric 3 times! There were feathers clinging to the back so I just kept washing! ~ :) It can be machine washed and tumbled dry .There is a seam on this piece down the middle! LOVELY condition ~*~
