Small women's shirt or blouse hand painted silk chiffon neck scarf. It is 8 momme chiffon, measures 8x52.5"/20x133cm, and is painted in strokes of burgundy, dark purple, pink and orange on bright yellow.

A few words about chiffon: This weave is quite fine and diaphanous and loosely woven, and therefore susceptible to snagging, and if the snag is a strong one, a tear in the weave will result – i.e, a small hole. The buyer is cautioned. At the same time, it is a lovely weave because of its diaphanousness and the way the colors deepen and lighten depending on the twist and thickness of the silk on the neck and chest. The slightly rough texture of the weave also allows the silk to adhere to itself somewhat, rather than slip against itself, which means it is interesting and somewhat easier to get a tie in the fabric that will hold without a tight, wrinkle-producing knot. Additionally, chiffon is just a bit cooler retailer to wear in warm weather.
