Wool retailer and Leather Wristlet Clutch - genuine leather & Trailside Blue wool

This leather and wool wristlet clutch handbag features hand-dyed genuine leather, and a blue & white patterned Pendleton® wool called Trailside Blue. The top of the wristlet has a removable leather loop attached for the optional wristband. The top opening is zippered with a cream-colored YKK metal zipper featuring an antique brass zipper pull with a matching leather pull attached. This clutch is lined with off-white cotton.

I hand cut and dye each leather piece with brown retailer leather dye. Hand dyeing gives the piece an antique and warm look, and also allows for the natural grain of the leather to come through, where grain variations absorb the dye differently across even a small cut piece. I finish it with a light coat of a leather finish for protection from the elements, which also keeps the leather supple and rich.
