This unique junk journal is made from a hardback book The Barbarians, the Warriors and Wars of the Dark Ages. The bright orange cover, with an attached black and white ribbon tie, belies the more subdued colors of tan, grey, navy, and black on the inside of the journal. Many of the books original pages, especially the beautiful illustrations, are intact. There are 16 full-page color plates, 14 full-page black and white drawings, and nine blank pages. The journal contains two quilted upholstery fabric pockets embellished with brads. Other pockets through-out the journal hold large cards, mostly made from the original book's illustrations. Six envelopes to hold your personal mementos and four note cards for writing are also included. The distressing gives the journal a grungy appearance. It definitely has a masculine feel. Stitching, ribbon, and scrapbook pages are used throughout. The journal measures 10" x 7½" x 1½" at the opening when tied shut. This would make an ideal gift for someone who loves history.
