Product code: Antique French Opera Glasses made By Duvaldestin of Dijon, Antique binocular, vintage binocular, original case, retailer 1800s optical instrument.

This is an authentic antique binoculars in its original case.
It was made by the French opticien Mathonet Dulaldestin, as written inside the case and on the rim of the lens so this would be a superb historical piece for a collector, but also a great home decor addition. I have researched the Duvaldstin business and found the fascinating details of the family dating from 1832 as shown below
The case, in in worn and shabby condition, is made of leather with brass closure, the stitching down the side has worn away the inside lining is made of pink silk and very worn. One of the rims around the lens is broken and another has a split but the lenses are intact and in remarkable condition given its obvious age
I found these at a French Brocante (antiques market). Rare to have the Original Case with the makers details so intact, Lovely piece of French history. They do work but you do need to manually focus them, the result is still quite clear. Please see photos.
Measures: 12cm long by 6.5cm high and 5cm wide, approximately.
