This is a Stover No. 8 Cast Iron Waffle Maker with a High Base manufactured by STOVER of Freeport, Illinois. Stover produced waffle irons and closed in 1942. Overall this wonderful example measures about 15" long x 11 3/4" wide, x 5 1/8" tall. All three (3) pieces ... including the fairly new Black spring handles are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and minimal marks from previous use, handling, and storage. There is a small casting retailer flaw on the base. The metal has been cleaned and seasoned, This vintage iron is ready for use and really displays nicely! If you want to use a vintage waffle iron on a modern stove, a high-base type like this is the kind you really must have.
