A vintage French porcelain counterweight for a rise and fall light, ceiling rose

An interesting counterweight for a rise and fall light. More usually the electrical wire passes down the side of the counterweight and is kept away from it by a metal spacer.

This counterweight has an integral ceiling rose to (in part) hide the pulley and the electrical wire goes right through the middle and out the bottom of the weight.

I bought it full of iron filings and small nails - I have emptied it for safer and (cheaper!) shipping!

It is in very good vintage condition.
