On offer is this lovely historical gravy / sauce boat. It's in good condition overall, no chips, cracks or restoration - notable raised brown sand specks to the glaze all over (please refer to images) as well as scuffs and scratches to the glaze commensurate with age; glaze thinning around the outer edge and evidence of air bubbles to the glaze too but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.

It's of traditional form, decorated with a red line band and on one side a shield outline with the letters "BSS" - possibly from the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto Canada.

Marked on the underside for Grindley Hotel Ware (England) and also for Cassidy's Ltd (Canada), circa mid 20th century.

It measures an impressive 25cm (9 and 3/4 inches) handle to spout end, by 68mm in maximum body width by 12cm (4 and 3/4 inches) in height to the top of the handle - outer measurements - and is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
