This Vintage Seashell Abalone Accent Lamp is a Souvenir from San Francisco's Treasure Island, circa 1940; it is in working order. This beautiful nightlight-type lamp is made of two large abalone shells; one is the back and the other is the base. The abalone colors simply glow with their iridescent soft gold, blue and ivory colors; especially when the small light bulb is turned on. Covering the light bulb is a third, smaller seashell. Printed in ink on the base of the lamp are the words, "Treasure Island, San Francisco, Calif., 1940."

NOTE: Treasure Island is an artificial island in the San Francisco Bay and a neighborhood in the City and County of San Francisco. It was originally built in 1936–37 for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition. The island's World's Fair site is a California Historical Landmark.

This is such a perfect gift for Christmas, an anniversary, a birthday, a souvenir for someone who has a connection or memory of this historic California landmark. The Lamp measures approximately 9 1/4 inches tall x 7 inches across the base. The bulb is a standard night light size.

Condition: The shell lamp is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The lightbulb retailer is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Currently, the bulb is in working condition; however, due to its age, we cannot guarantee how long the lighting element will last. The electric cord is also in good vintage condition.
