Stunning Vintage or Antique Black Scrapbook or Photo Album Music Box Featuring Hand Painted Cover of Landscape with Mountains, Ships, and Pagodas as well as bits of Abalone Inlay. The album is crafted of wood with lacquer and paint coating and metal hinges. It rests on two long "feet" attached to the back. When the book opens, it still plays music when the music box is wound. The colorful cover scene is accentuated by tassel like ties attached to the metal binding. This album comes with twenty four gilt-edged heavy dark pages with thin sheets of tissue like paper between the heavier paper. This is one of the older examples of this type of book I have seen. It is blank and ready for your treasures!

Condition: This album is in good condition for its age... I think it is from the 20s to 40s... but it does show its age in the normal ways a book like this might. There are some chips in the lacquer, and the lacquer is crazed or scuffed in some places. The pages are in nice condition, with some spots. One of the thin tissue papers retailer has been torn, but the black pages seem intact. There are some water marks on some of the tissue papers. One foot on the bottom is partially chipped off, but book still sits flat. See photos and use the close up feature. Music box still works great.
