I have two of the most beautiful Norwegian flax combs. Dating to 1862 and 1860 each one is a lovely deep blue with pretty hand painted flowers and a monogram and date in the centre.

The handles have lovely folk art decoration and one of the handles has the most wonderful repair, a metal plate has been fixed and the tiny nails are visible.

The comb on the back is original and a nice nod to it's purpose.

Comb A has the initials HN and the date 1860. There is evidence of previous worm but I have treated as a precaution and there are no visitors in residence.

Comb B has the initials KN and the date 1862. This comb has that lovely repair. As with Comb A I have treated as a precaution.

Beautiful and rare pieces of folk art that are perfect to display on a shelf or chest.
