Chief Cheerful retailer on Carefree Creek Whirligig

Meet Chief Cheerful of the Chuckletoe Tribe. He's loving life as he's one with nature, paddling down Carefree Creek with the wind whistling through his feathered headdress.
A friend found this gig for us in a Thrift Shop. The Chief has such a smiley face that he puts a smile on our faces whenever we gaze at him, especially when a stiff breeze sends his paddles spinning.
Chief Cheerful's canoe is sturdier than most whirligigs, as it's 1 1/2 inches thick. It measures 13" long and the Chief is 6 1/2" tall. The oars are 13 inches tip-to-tip. We can only guess at the Chief's age. He doesn't show a lot of sign of wear and/or exposure to the elements. We're thinking he's probably ten to twenty years old.
We consider whirligigs to be wonderful, whimsical works of folk art. They were made mostly for the amusement of their creator. They're all funky, retro blasts from the past, when life was simpler and sunnier. retailer
