This beautiful D`'Orlan bird brooch is made of gold plated metal, accented with brilliant green and blue enamel and clear Austrian crystals. A red crystal denotes the eye of the bird.

The D'Orlan Company was founded in Toronto, Canada in 1957 by Maurice J. Bradden. Apparently, Mr. Bradden had met, and been influenced by, Marcel Boucher. D'Orlan pieces usually bear the same type of inventory code as found on Boucher pieces, and many of the designs have a Boucher look. D'Orlan jewellery was manufactured in Canada in their own factory, using top quality materials,including Austrian crystals, according to the website of Creed Canada, which acquired part of the D'Orlan Company.
