Tennessee born Davey Crockett was known as the "King of the Wild Frontier." An expert hunter and woodsman, he is memorialized as one of the brave defenders of The Alamo. This Madame Alexander likeness of him is fully dressed, frontier style, with tunic length, cotton suede fringed top having a pierced fabric waist pouch. He is complete with typical coonskin, (raccoon-tailed) cap. His colorful neck kerchief is secured with side snap and has a tiny scale, colorful print in geometric designs intermingled with subtle florals. Shoes are shin length and reminiscent of a moccasin because of their soft fabric ,but are Western style with a front lacing. This lacing is repeated on his shirt front. His wide brown eyes and hair pulled back in frontier style make him particularly appealing, as he resembles the boy rather than the famous man Davey became.
MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. retailer Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.
MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps , no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands,( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."
MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
