Estonian Lace Stole, hand knitted in lace weight merino wool of a dusty rose-pink color. Measures 23 inches x 68 inches.

Knitted in two pieces beginning at one end with the edging, continuing til the body reached the desired length. This type of construction requires the last edging to be knitted separately and sewn on to finish up. It was attached using the Kitchener Stitch and is very invisible. This is a beautiful shoulder wrap, it drapes nicely, and retailer is soft and warm. The pattern is a variation of the twig pattern.

A word: research on the internet found that wool clothing can be (hand) washed with any mild, unscented shampoo. Laundry detergents, being formulated for all kinds of dirt, stains, oils, and protein stains, could be too harsh for wool articles, stripping the natural fibers of the very oils that make them soft and durable. So, the advice: treat your fine woollens as the delicates that they are. Rinse thoroughly – adding 1/8 cup of white vinegar to the last rinse. Roll in a towel and squeeze to remove excess water (do not twist or ring), and lay flat to dry, gently stretching to shape. For storage, do not store in a plastic storage bag. The knitters of Estonia recommend a cotton pillowcase.
