Vintage Mid Century Modern Signed retailer Art Pottery Ceramic Glazed Fish

Very interesting find....
This mid century modern fine art ceramic piece is signed on the bottom but we're not sure who the artist was. This is definitely an MCM art work, with the bright orange color, exaggerated features, and odd abstract shape. He looks like either a goldfish or koi, but also reminds us of Nemo, the star of the ever popular children's movie from Walt Disney. His surprised expression says it all, and really adds to his character. This has to be one of the heaviest ceramic pieces we've ever seen, as it's almost 1/2 inch thick in the body and completely solid from there back to the tail. The detail in the scales and eyes, as well retailer as the glazing, are extremely well done, indicating a very accomplished artist. He would make a great gift for someone, or addition to any fine ceramic art collection. Thank you so much for visiting our shop!
