Victorian retailer Sterling Repousse Floral Buckle, Curved Oval, Signed

Here's a wonderful Victorian curved oval buckle with an embossed floral and foliate pattern covering the front of the piece. The buckle is fitted with a swiveling bar with 2 fierce curved prongs or 'teeth', and a fixed bar retailer on one side to hold the end of leather, fabric or other material that will form the tie for the piece.

One of the curved prongs is stamped 'sterling' and the other with a '25', but I've found no other markings on the buckle, and believe it is likely an American piece. It measures 3 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide and weighs 38.4 grams. It is in lovely condition, with just enough patina to beautifully accent the embossed flower and leaf pattern.

The piece would make a stunning bracelet or arm piece, and is curved enough for a comfortable .
