A vintage Tibetan or Nepalese brass filigree mouse retailer with inlaid garnet and coral cabochons

A vintage/antique brass filigree mouse from Nepal or Tibet, dating from the early part of the 20th century. Inlaid with garnet cabochons, with further coral retailer inlays for the eyes, this captivating little rodent measures 4" long (to curl of tail) and 2" high. He is is made of delicate brass filigree which has been inset with semi-precious stones, garnet, I believe, and coral. About 6 of the garnets are missing but this does not detract from his attractiveness. His pricked ears have a coppery hue and his tail curls magnificently towards his front paws.

This type of metal work originated in the Himalayas, and animals like this are understandably very sought after.

Condition: Good Vintage (some cabochons missing)
