OOAK Needle felted Gnome retailer on hand turned toadstool sculpture

“A fun guy on a fungi”

This is Trevor. He's been on a really long walk to get his wife Maud some little gifts. On retailer the way home he's stopped off on a toadstool to have a rest and to enjoy the sunshine.

The sculpture is made using various needle felting techniques with sheeps wool prepared in different ways and a little bit of angora too. He is sitting on a hand turned wooden toadstool created from a naturally sourced tree branch.

Needle felting is like sculpting with wool fibres. The wool fibres are stabbed repeatedly with tiny needles that have barbs on the end. Trevor took around 10 hours to complete. He has an inner skeleton and can be lifted off the toadstool exposing the wire used to fix him there (be careful not to injure yourself) and posed or seated somewhere else.
