Vintage bronze dish by French sculptor Max Le Verrier
This interesting relief dish is made from solid bronze and depicts an ancient coin of French King Charles VII (1403-61). Made in Paris, France, by famous French sculptor Louis Octave Maxime Le Verrier (1891–1973) also known as Max Le Verrier or his pseudonym Artus. He was known for being a pioneer within the Parisian Art Deco movement, creating decorative art objects often made in bronze as well as historical sculptures.
The dish is in excellent condition, slight signs of use and wear commensurate with its age.
On the underside are three feet and the maker's mark.
