Warli painting is a style of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from Maharashtra, India. Warli Painting are among the finest examples of the folk style of paintings. These paintings do not depict mythological characters or images of deities, but depict social life.

Nature and trees play a crucial part in the Warli tribals livelihood and are given careful attention in the paintings. The tree plays a very important role in rural India – it is a meeting point for the community when they are tired and need some rest; where they may collect after lunch to catch up and exchange notes before they head back to their retailer fields. Around it, life goes on as usual, with birds, squirrels monkeys, snakes, rivers and mountains in the backdrop.
