Hand designed using a hard clay, actual small pieces of wood and metal to recreate the look of a wine barrel, then molded into a hard copy plaster, hand cast using a fine quality sand and cement mix, hand colored with a mix of mineral color for an authentic rustic antique look and feel. I made and completed this cat planter in 2000 when I lived up north. Sometimes when you live deep in the country you can come across wild cats of all kinds. Inspiration was just a step outside my door. I owned a tabby by the name of "Ginger" and she was beautiful. I've always loved cats and "Precious" is a calico and she looks so sneaky, with her deep, piercing brown eyes looking around as if she's done wrong. She stands very still holding on to the barrel for dear life as if she is just about ready to hide or scavenge for food, and her ears are perked up to listen for anything or anyone. This planter is specially made for small indoor plants displayed on a vanity, side table, living room coffee table, kitchen window, hall table. Also made for outdoor annuals such as begonias, impatience, portulaca, etc. Looks just as natural outdoors displayed on a log, amongst a metal or wrought iron trellis, in a rock garden, etc. Made to withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures outdoor. Measures "5"Dx"9"Wx"9"H and weighs approx. 10 lbs. PRICE LISTED DOES NOT INCLUDE S&H CHARGES. PLEASE CONTACT SELLER BEFORE PURCHASING FOR A QUOTE TO YOUR LOCATION.
