Featuring text from Ovid's Fasti, Book 5, describing the death of Chiron, the wise centaur, in the presence of Hercules and Achilles. The rich illustrated border features a a Greek pottery pattern with a centaur shooting the scorpion (following the story of Chiron's constellation shooting Scorpio), Hercules, and Achilles, two of Chiron's students.
