Vintage Glass Dish Plate Garden retailer Flower....Hip to Be Square, Remember that show way back whenSquare Pegs? Yep I think we all felt a little square.
Remember that show, way back when...Square Pegs? Yep, I think we all felt a little square sometimes back then, so really, it's Hip to Be Square! Who says flowers have to be round anyway? Perfectly imperfect, you may notice some vintage imperfections in this piece, but none than can be noticed....though we notice our flaws, others usually don't, and that's what makes us each unique and special!
All garden flowers can be hung on the wall. You will need a plate hanger to secure it to the wall. Add a vintage frame around the flower and instant vintage glam!
This flower is retailer made from five distinct vintage glass items:
*one 9" ivory "soft square" yellow depression glass plate with scroll work pattern (does have a small chip on top surface along edge; can be felt but not seen)
*one 8 1/4" "soft square" ivory salad plate with floral embossing; glaze shows crazing, which looks pretty cool!
*one 5 1/2" "soft square" blue depression glass saucer; pattern matches and complements yellow plate (small chip, not noticeable)
*one 4 3/4" ivory floral dish (marked "James Kent Ltd. Made in England 3034); glaze shows crazing and has a small chip underneath that can't be seen)
*one 3" white butter pat tray with gold gilded edges
*one 1 3/4" square ceramic drawer pull for center
Each garden flower and totem is adhered together with a high-strength epoxy resin adhesive that is water-, weather-, temperature - and solvent-resistant, and is able to fill voids and uneven surfaces. However, to increase the longevity and enjoyment of your investment, and due to the nature of glass itself, I recommend taking your piece(s) in during winters (you need something cheerful during the winter!) that are harsh and tend to have freezing and below freezing temperatures and other harsh weather that may occur during the year. You'll want to care for your garden art as you would any cherished item, with love. Handwash only.
Attached to the back of this flower is a 5/8" coupling nut. You will want to purchase a separate 5/8" threaded metal rod (as shown in the photo) to support your garden flower. The threaded rods help to ensure that the flowers do not shift on their support stake. I do not ship the threaded rods; they are inexpensive ($2-$3) at your local hardware store and would be more expensive to ship than to purchase on your own separately, and this way, you can also choose your own type of support stake as well as the length. The price of each garden flower or totem is representative of the cost of the individual pieces of glassware used to create the artful pieces.
To add the flower to your garden, insert the threaded rod into the ground (a hammer helps!), screw your flower to the rod (via the coupling nut), and enjoy! (**My note: it works a little better for me to hammer the rod into the ground, remove it, then screw the rod into the coupling nut, and reinsert the rod with the flower attached. There's less chance of dropping the flower this way.) If you find it hard to screw the pieces together, some type of lubricant may help.
Due to the nature of these pieces, I do not combine shipping of items. I want them to arrive to you safely, and definitely in one piece!! You'll find something for every style, taste and budget. Keep watching for new postings! Shipping cost is approximate; Shipping cost is approximate; shipping is based on weight, and I do not make money on shipping. If there is an overage that has been paid on shipping, I will refund the difference.please convo me for shipping options.
