Vintage Japanese retailer silk panel with beautiful patterns, likely 1950's

We don't know what these beautiful silk panels were for, but we were glad to see them when given to us by a Japanese friend, who received them from her mother. This is one quarter of what was originally a single retailer long piece of fabric, as the cut edges align. It is one of the two center sections.

It measures 13 1/4" x 54". in very good vintage condition, unused.
