This beautiful early print of 1802 originates from Adam Walkers - A System of Familiar Philosophy in 'Twelve Lectures' containing The Elements and the Practical uses to be drawn from the Chemical properties of matter.

Printed for the Author, at his house, Number 42 Conduit Street, Hanover Square by G Kearsley Fleet Street.
In a time when men of wealth and fortune had the ability to produce, at their own expense, books of their all consuming interest in the matters of Science.

Adam Walker ( 1731-1821) inventor and writer, who settled in London after many years as a traveling Science lecturer on Natural Philosophy
He was responsible for the introduction of the transparent Orrey and an improved model of Harpsichord.
His numerous popular works on Science included 'An epitome of Astronomy'
He was a friend of Priestley and other members of the Lunar Society.

Sizes approximately: Paper size 9.3/4" x 10.1/4" (24.8 x 26.3 cm's) Image size to border excluding title 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" (19 x 21.5 cm's)

Condition: Excellent. Clean with no foxing or damage. There is the original page fold running from top to bottom. Enfolded paper was the norm method to use when retailer you needed to show a larger print than would fit into the book. Please see images for more detail.
