Blue and White Plates are timeless and classic heirlooms. These in particular designed in Hutschenreuther Germany are of excellent quality and crafted in porcelain. The details are impeccable. If you are a collector, these will NOT disappoint. Unfortunately, we do not have the original box. It was probably lost in a move.
Add this to any wall as a group, alone or as part of a wall gallery. The vibrancy of the colours, particularly the cobalt blue, is super compelling in one's space. This can be added in a traditional style home, a super impactful in a modern space, where the unexpected draws you immediately to conversation, if you will.
You may also consider doing a collection of plates for tradition, placing them in a curio cabinet, mixed in with other art forms, crazy, but cool submerged in a fish tank, in an office, in a glass dome with blue Christmas baubles at Christmas time.

DESCRIPTION:

Canada Christmas plates are very distinct in their vibrant cobalt blue mixed with white and hues of lighter blue. This piece is magnificent. The subject of Basilique Saint Anne-de-Beaupré is such a pretty scene whether you visited or just love the scene, it is stunning. It is dated 1975 with a Maple Leaf dead centre and the Basilica is so majestic.
It sits along the St. Lawrence River, east of Quebec and one of five of Canada's National Shrines. It is a Catholic Sanctuary visited by more than half a million pilgrims every year, many with hopes of being cured as it is notoriously known for its miracles.
Designer of this particular plate was by artist Helmut Hirnschall.
If you look onto the plate you can see the river in behind the Basilica.
This piece is manufactured in porcelain, limited and part of the C.E. Series.
Designed by Hutschenreuther, Germany. They ran from 1974 to 1983, 12 in the series. If you collect all 12, it will be stunning to have the entire set. Produced for C.E. Series, limited in a small production.
For some this tradition of collecting plates is at the heart of the home.
Lastly, there is a inconspicuous hanger hook on the back ready for hanging as found by us probably from previous owner.

OUR STORY:
My mother was a huge collector of blues plates, including the Christmas Copenhagen plates.
We have an entire collection of these plates in my parent's home that grace the hallway walls. They are dynamic bring about feelings of warmth and keep the memories of family alive. When I visit my parent's home I often pause in this area of the home and allow myself to be transported back in times of childhood freedom and it allows for unrestrained imagination.
They were very inspiring and still continue to be. While we have a mass collection, we are ready to part with some.
