Black-red eastern floating retailer lava dragon elemental

This dragon is based on the Eastern dragons, which are often associated with water. Despite its large mouth with pointed teeth and long, golden claws, it is a peaceful, gentle creature that feels just as comfortable in the lava of a volcanic cauldron as in the water. Fittingly, its round, fish-like scales are patterned black and red and covered with a golden sheen, the underside, however, is white. Its green eyes sparkle in the sunlight and a fluffy, dark blue mane resembling that of a lion runs from its head to the tip of its tail, where it ends in a fin-like tassel. With the help of the two hooks on its back, it can be attached to the ceiling, making it look like it is swimming through the air.

Also for this dragon I used a branch of the corkscrew hazel as a base, which is clearly evident on the snake-like winding body. I would like to say that I myself managed the beautiful meandering motion in the head and tail of the dragon, but that was only Mother Nature's work that made the branch grow like this. I only followed the structures with aluminum and polymer clay. With the head and the claws, it took me a long time to get them right, because the modeling compounds I used at the beginning were either too coarse-grained and liquid for the details or dried out too quickly and became brittle. This was one of retailer the first dragons I tried to print scales using tools instead of laboriously carving them in by hand. Here I used a straw and the end of a ballpoint pen, which created the differently sized, round scales.
