Would you like your children's old baby clothing turned into a beautiful memory keepsake so that you can treasure them forever? Why not have old baby clothing turned into a patchwork quilt.
A pram bed sized quilt is approx 83cm x 99cm and is backed with a pale pink, pale blue, light grey or white cotton fabric with a layer of wadding/batting also used. I can offer alternative coloured backing fabrics, please feel free to ask.
Each piece of clothing also has interfacing ironed to the back so that it doesn't stretch when sewn. Each quilt also has a binding around the edges in the same cotton fabric used on the back of your quilt
I will send you a range of layout designs for your quilt after I have received your clothing, this means I can make retailer the most of any text, designs and other features on the clothing. Previously I have added hats and baby blankets to quilts so if you have specific details that you would like to be included let me know. Most items of clothing will work for these.
I will require a minimum of 17 pieces of clothing. If you are sending things like hats these are extra and don't count towards the 17 items. Newborn sizes are very small so I would suggest sending a few extra items of clothing if sending this size.
How does it work? After ordering I will send you my address so you can post clothing to me. We can discuss your individual requests and requirements and I will then start making your quilt. Please note that the cost of you posting the clothing to me is not included within the price of the quilt or postage.
These take between 6-8 week from receiving clothing to me sending the finished quilt to you.
After ordering please send me a message letting me know the colour you would like for the backing fabric.
