Owls - such incredible creatures. The only time I have come up close and personal with one was in our vet hospital waiting room. Its eyes fixed you with such vivid intensity - I will never forget meeting such a magnificent creature! This piece is my humble ode to that glorious bird. A beautiful handmade owl focal in unglazed porcelain hangs from an exquisite handmade lampwork glass round in chestnut, burnt umber and topaz. I have added a double strand of textural copper chain and pressed glass leaves or feathers above this, giving the sense of the owl's dramatic swooping wings, flying out of the necklace itself. Below the owl hangs a small length of leafy copper chain and a handmade copper charm, containing a stamped heart. The chain above the focal portion of the necklace is pure oxidised copper - chunky and satisfying. The necklace closes with a toggle clasp; the toggle in the form of a branch slips through the links of chain so it can be fastened at whatever length you choose.

~ Necklace measures 68cm/28.75" with a dramatic 9cm/3.5" pendant. It can be worn shorter due to the toggle clasp but I can permanently shorten it if desired.
