Handmade SILK PLAID Drawstring Treasure Pouch in Woodland Colors, Handwoven retailer Tsumugi Silk. Imported from Okinawa. One of A Kind.

The silk kasuri (ikat) PLAID fabric (in golds, olive green, cinnamon, and black) used in this sweet treasure bag was hand-woven with very fine silk hand-dyed thread. Both the natural plant dyes used for retailer dyeing the silk thread and the kasuri weaving pattern itself are both indigenous to Okinawa, where a 400+ year unique history of dyeing and weaving survives today. The silk pouch was purchased from an artisan's studio in Okinawa when I visited with one of my tour groups. It has never been used and comes with authentication (in Japanese).
