Triangular Geometric Wall Mirror retailer

A unique, handcrafted wall mirror made from reclaimed packaging card and collaged paper. The mirror frame is strong, sturdy and coated with varnish to give it a deep, crisp, clear, high gloss finish.

The mirror is made from hand drawn and cut polygons joined to create an undulating geometric frame with the mirror embedded in the centre. It has as its starting point an octagon which has been extended upwards and outwards using pentagons, squares and equilateral triangles retailer.

MAKING
The geometric frame is formed from card pieces, glued together. These are then covered with layers of cross laid, torn strips of redundant office paper, pasted down with PVA glue to form a strong, solid base.

The front is collaged with rainbow triangles cut out of magazine paper before being finished with two layers of lemon shellac varnish.

Following this the mirror is embedded into the frame with a card backing secured into place with paper strips and PVA glue before the last layer is laid as a carefully constructed paper collage and finished with three layers of lemon shellac varnish.

The embedded mirror has an integral mount for wall hanging. Using a cord through this mount the mirror can be easily hung on a picture hook. The weight of the mirror and frame is only 69 grams / 4.3oz

PACKAGING
The mirror is packaged with recycled paper and cardboard for delivery and protected with a waterproof layer.
