Papua New retailer Guinea Wood Orators Stool Upper Sepik River

This is a wonderful Old Dark Wood Carvers Stool from the Upper Sepik Region of Papua New Guinea. This stool resided in the men's house and was used by the master carver to work and carve on, and was carved out of a single piece of wood. Ceremonial Stools of this type retailer were only used by high-ranking tribal officials; most likely an orator or someone affiliated with the village council. This stool has carved alligator heads on both sides and markings on the sides. Stools are all one of a kind, because they are used and made by a special carver. This would be a wonderful addition to your collection or home.
