Description

Product Name: Handmade White Ceramic Serving, retailer Decorative Bowl

All my pottery is uniquely designed and created to be one of a kind just for you. Created in my home studio in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Whether your looking for a unique serving bowl or a decorative bowl for your home this one has a wonderful antique feel to it.

It has been thrown on the wheels, but has a hand carved design on the exterior with a raised pattern along the rim and foot.
It has been glazed white with highlights of blue and gold.

This Bowl is food, dishwasher and microwave safe and it measures 6.5”W x 5”H

Just to give you a little peak into what it takes to create pottery I thought I'd share my process.
Most people don't realize how time consuming it can be and how much of ourselves, as potters, we put into our work
To start the process I would work with a piece of raw clay and wedge it in order to get any air bubbles out of it. I then decide whether I take it to my wheel to be thrown or I hand built my idea.
Once that is complete, the clay has to dry to a ‘leathery feel' at which time I can trim the bottom, if it was a mug or bowl, or attach any extra details I'd like such as a handle. Once the piece is completely dry, which can take up to retailer a week, I would sand it smooth and put it in the kiln to bisque. This drys the piece throughly at an extremely high temperature and turns it to ceramic. At this time I would glaze it and refire it, which turns my glaze to a thin glass layer that adheres to the ceramic. Once this is complete I will a beautiful piece of pottery, but the end result isn't always a guarantee for success.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my shop and I hope you visit again!
