Log Teapot
I live in a logging community with several mills, so I was inspired by the grain and beauty retailer in wood.

This woodsy looking teapot was made using stoneware clay with wood grain carved into the clay body. A slab was formed and wrapped around some newspaper to form the body. After adding the spout, handle, opening with lid, and giving it a wood grain look, it was set aside to dry. After bone dry it goes into the kiln for the first firing (called a bisque firing).
After the bisque firing the piece is sanded some, wiped clean and then glazed and back into the kiln to be high fired.

It can be functional and used as a teapot or decorate your collection with something new and unique.

The piece is food safe and no lead was used.
