Beautiful hand thrown large green/turquoise bowl which is suitable for use as a fruit or salad serving bowl. It was made using white stoneware clay and glazed with Indigo Float and Emerald Falls, which, when layered produce a green/turquoise base colour with bursts of green.

All of my pieces are hand thrown in the pottery studio at the end of my garden. I use mainly white stoneware clay but also a retailer flecked stoneware and sometimes a toasted colour when I'm looking to create variations in my glaze effects.

My pottery can take up to 3 weeks to complete. Once I've prepared the clay and weighed it, I throw each piece on the wheel and depending on the temperature in my studio, which will affect drying times, I trim them the following day and leave to dry completely before the first firing. I then use a brush on glaze which requires at least 3 coats but sometimes as many as 6 if I'm layering glazes. The 2nd firing reaches 1220 degrees and takes around 9 hours.

All of the glazes are food safe and lead free.

My pottery is oven and dishwasher proof although it will have a longer life if you hand wash it.
