Retailer Antique Chinese Cinnabar Brooch

Antique cinnabar brooch, with a filigree border. Based on my research, it most like dates anywhere from the early 1900s to the 1920s. It is octagonal, and it is marked "China" on the back. I am uncertain of the metal content. It measures 2" x 1.5". In good condition, with a little surface patina from age.
