A summer evening drive across the retailer bridge linking Kingston and Rhinecliff in New York's Hudson Valley is spectacular when a sky full of silver thunderclouds and distant rain are illuminated in gold, and reflect magic light in the wide Hudson River. Fortunately there was a passenger with quick camera reflexes who captured an image so I didn't distress other drivers by swerving and braking for beauty. This painting evokes both serenity and drama. Also available larger in a hand-painted frame.
These 9x12” acrylics are demo paintings from art classes I teach - inspired by photos taken in N California, on trips to the tropics and across the US. In 2017 I moved my studio to Woodstock, New York to teach art and find beautiful new landscapes to paint. Some will repeat as they sell (this is Version 2), but each will be a little different as they are indeed originals.
