We are happy to present a marvelous porcelain pedestal chocolate cup and saucer.
This Duo is created in the Royal Vienna Style porcelain designs of earlier centuries.
The chocolate cup has gold gilt accents and intricate gold handle. The upper part of the cup is black, on the pedestal we observe delicate lusterware finish in grey blue. A Fragonard love stories (Courting Couple motif) medallion is placed on both sides.
The Saucer is black also, with a bigger Fragonard medallion and gold decor. The precision of the lines is not perfect, but has a charming touch to it.
It is a very beautiful design, perfect addition to every collection or every tea party and a conversation piece.
No one of the Duo's pieces shows a mark, but and old sticker reminiscence. Please see all pictures.
Very good condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. The gold rims show some light imperfections.
Not been an "expert" but, after retailer intense research and based on other Duos presented on the page, I could position this set as imported by Arnart Creations. Later Arnart Imports (1953-2001) was an importer of figurines, art-ware and china located in New York. At earlier times of the company, they have items made in Europe. Later most of their imports, were made in Japan in the style of antique famous Porcelain potteries.
Colors: sweet pastels and some intense pink, light greens, light browns a lot of gold filigree borders on beautiful white china.
Measurements:
Cup approximately 4 1/2" tall, 2" in diameter (3 1/4" to the handle)
Saucer approximately 4 1/8" in diameter
