Antique The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting HC FE (1922) retailer

This is an antique The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle book by Hugh Lofting published in 1922 by Frederick A. Stokes Company. It is a later printing (sixteenth - 1936) The book is in okay shape. All the pages are fully attached but the front cover board is loose because the board papers have cracked open (see photos). The inside pages have yellowed but are clean. There is a lot of dirt and staining to the book edges (top, side and bottom). The retailer gray boards are pretty dirty and the spine has rips to the top sides. The book is fine to read, there is some foxing here and there. There is a lot of writing (and a stamp) to the first page and front and back boards and a note to Ranny inside in pen. The first colored illustration has a lot of foxing to the edges. This obviously was a much loved book, so keep that in mind. Probably not a collector's book, not the best condition.
