Vintage French Double Sided White Onyx Religious Medal

Dating back to turn-of-the-last-century, this late-Victorian religious treasure, hand fabricated in gold vermeil, features oval white onyx cabochons on the front and back. The piece is uniquely decorated around the edge with hand-engraved designs that weave their way to the top and ten equally spaced delicate orbs all surmounted by a cross. The medal looks like a miniature finger rosary.

Measures 3/4" wide x 1 1/8"tall not including the bail that slips into the chain x about a tad smaller than 3/8" thick. Weight is 59 grams. It is marked with a French silver hallmark (poincon) on the top loop. In Very Good antique condition. Rare and lovely!
