Original green decorative cloth with heavily decorated cover and spine with gilt. Cloth is pulling away and shipping at upper spine. One tear in lower spine cloth. Cover corners bend downward slightly. Book warps upward slightly. Back cover is plain green and good. First edition, part of a fairly well known collection of books by the publisher. Eps are dark gray and clean. Tissue by frontispiece his tanned with some foxing spots. Mild foxing on frontispiece illustration of "Dorothy". Tanning from tissue bled onto title page. Hinge slightly cracked on pg 1 with tanning at spine edge. Mild foxing on interior pages. Soiled crease marking in upper right corner on pg 115. Pg 13 has a 4" horizontal tear. Pgs 15 - 20 have a 1" horizontal tear. Book is full of black and white Victorian themed illustrations by Dobson.
