This is an Iroquois handmade vintage pin cushion, may be Mohawks, and may be from late 1800's, early 1900's. Many had the date or even wording on them this doesn't.
This is heavily beaded, and the way it is sewn, it doesn't appear to be missing beads, although on the front top it looks to be, but at closer look, it's just sewn this way, (picture 3,4, and 5). I'm not an expert on these, but did do research, so hope I can describe the best I can. It retailer does have a couple of small spots on the back, some wear with age, but very little. Please see pictures.
These were sold in abundance to tourists during this era mentioned above, and even earlier.
This is an olive or avocado green on the front. The back is a pink. The front is not velour, like some are, it's more like a muslin. It does have a bit of wear, separation, at the middle beading, (picture 3 shows this best). The back is a pink color, and looks to be polished cotton. The beads I believe are glass, with the colors of white, light blue, dark blue green, amber, (the picture appears more red or orange, but these are more of an amber), and a gun metal. At least this is what I see. The "Hanger" has white beads. This also has a pocket, (picture 8), which I believe was used for holding sewing materials.
I measured this, 3" x 4", without the beaded hanger, and the beaded fringe. With these also, it's about 6 1/2" x 3".
