A chamber pot was a portable toilet meant for nocturnal use in the bedroom... way back in the day, before there was indoor plumbing.
This one was made by the Johnson Brothers, and was manufactured in England between 1883-1913.
The Johnson Brothers china factory successfully exported Johnson Brothers china to the United States in large volumes from their Staffordshire potteries for the better part of the 20th century.
This particular pot would have originally been sold with a lid, but sometime over the past 100 years it seems to have wandered away.
However, it is still just as cool without it.
We think it would make a very sweet planter, but then again... we would.
Seems a little big for a candy dish... but hey, you do you.
Size: 5 1/2" Tall; 9" diameter
