A Walnut stand and frame for display of embroidered banner. Walnut is stained with Java Gel stain with regular to variable grain and figure. The design of the crest is complemented in the feet and lower cross stretcher. The two upper rods serve as support of the banner and the lower rod maintains the banner in a vertical position. The vertical uprights are tapered upward from the bottom to give a sense of lifting from the feet. The stand is 16 inches tall retailer, 9 ½ inches wide, the feet are 7 inches front to back.

The stand was built in my woodshop. It was inspired by the need for a means of displaying banners embroidered with applique borders. Segments are formed "in-the-rough" with woodworking machines and refined to finish shape and joinery by hand. The finish is an oil-based urethane with satin sheen.

The stand is available with the scalloped design or the smoother design and with other wood species and finishes.
