I comb my local architectural salvage warehouse to find these gorgeous wood plinths to use as canvases. My first step is to spend some time sanding and carving away the layers of paint to reveal all the colors underneath. I use acrylics retailer to paint artwork on the surface of these beautiful relics of the past. Each plinth painting is truly one of a kind! These plinths stand on their own, adding charm to a tabletop, shelf, or mantle . . . and can also be hung on the wall.

This plinth has a traditional bulls-eye center detail. I've painted a vibrant blue butterfly on this piece. So sweet and so whimsical!
