First edition 1921 published By Doubleday Page & Company. Charles Wadsworth Camp was a good author of his day retailer and was a writer, a critic, and a foreign correspondent. These books are written in the style of the times (Edwardian times and the 1920's. A lot of his stories became movies and plays. His books have a detective/paranormal approach and are no worse than a lot of Conan-Doyle books from the time. As these are free they are worth reading for avid readers who have expended as many freebies as possible.
